Louth. 564.02 All-Ireland champions 2018, for the 3rd year in-a-row, Shandrum Céilí Band from Co. Cork play a selection of Reels at the launch of their new CD in St. Mary’s Church, Buttevant on Saturday 18th May 2019. The reels are “The Blue Bells of Scotland”, “The rising sun” and “The Railway Station”. The CD “The Shandrum Céilí Band” features many musical gems from the Boss Murphy Musical Legacy in North Cork area. 564.03 Winning the All-Ireland Senior Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018, Deirdre and Eibhlín De Barra and Aileen De Burca, CCÉ, Gort na mBó, Mayo, play a Hornpipe. 564.04 At Ed. Reavy Fiddle Festival 2018 in Cavan, Lydia Warnock from Mooneen, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim, plays a Reel - “Paddy Fahy’s” (who sadly passed away in May 2019) in the Senior Fiddle competition. 564.05 Selection played by Tuaisceart Grúpa Cheoil from Co. Wexford in Senior Grúpaí Cheoil Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth. 564.06 From Co. Down, Ciara Maguire, Niamh Howell and Matthew McAstocker, play a Hornpipe - “The humours of Tullycrine”, in Senior Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth. 564.07 In Scoil Éigse Tutors’ Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018, Tim Doyle and Fiona McNamara, both from Dublin, play 2 Reels - “Paddy Fahy’s” and “Lad O’ Byrne’s”. 564.08 Dancer Pauline O’ Meara spontaneously joins a session featuring a selection of Reels at Tipperary Co. Fleadh 2019 in Ballina, Co. Tipperary. Musicians include Deirdre Scanlon (fid), Aoife Naughton (flute), Eddie Whelan (guitar), Michael Searson (accordion - incidentally, Michael plays the popular “Cáirdín’ brand accordion which he manufactures), Michael Harty (flute), Seán Bashford (bouzouki), Eimear Watson (fid), Donal Watson (fid), Siobhán Kelly (flute) and Michael Hackett (bodhrán). Deirdre Scanlon and some of her colleagues play a Session in the pub - The Washerwoman’s Pub - every Sunday evening from 7 to 9 pm. I would like to express a sincere “thank You” to the Fleadh organisers for arranging a special tribute/acknowledgement to the Comhaltas Live Programme at the official opening of the Fleadh. 564.09 Dúlra and Síofra Hanley and Tomás Ó Gabháin, CCÉ, Paddy Killoran, Sligo, play a Reel - “Caher Rua” - in Senior Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth. 564.10 Three Flute players, Siobhán Kelly, Aoife Naughton and Michael Harty, play Reels - “The Caucus” and “The otter’s holt” - in a session at Tipperary Co. Fleadh 2019 in Ballina, Co. Tipperary, in ’The Washerwoman’s Pub”. Incidentally, Michael is one of the organisers of the annual Cahir Trad Fest in November every year in Cahir, Co. Tipperary and Ormond CCÉ are getting ready for the popular Castle Fest which runs in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary on weekend of 21-23 June.

Laois, plays a Reel - “Farewell to Erin”. 564.13 From USA, flute players Mary Wick (New Jersey) and Mairéad Fee (New York) play a selection of Jigs commencing with a lovely old version of “The battering ram” followed by “The legacy Jig”. Galway in Senior Grúpaí Ceoil competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018, in Drogheda, Co. Louth. 564.15 Jason McGuiness, CCÉ, Tireragh, Sligo, plays a Reel when taking 2nd place in Senior Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2018, in Drogheda, Co. Louth.
