A large session featuring many musicians from USA at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in the D Hotel in Drogheda, Co. Louth. They play a selection of Reels ending with “The man of the house”. 568.02 Recorded in St. Mary of the Rosary Church, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary on 26th July 2019, the In Tune for Life Orchestra with Ned Kelly play a selection of Polkas, with a bit of ‘artistic preparation’ at the start ! The orchestra has helped in raising significant donations for charitable causes. 568.03 After taking 1st place in 15-18 Banjo competition at Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down, Patrick Treacy from Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh, plays a Reel - “Morning thrush”. 568.04 Recorded in the Half Door, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, on 24th July 2019, All-Ireland U-12 Champion 2018 on Fiddle and Fiddle Slow Airs, Mairéad O’ Brien, plays 2 Reels - “13 Arches” and “Andy McGann’s”. Mairéad’s teacher is Liz Gaughan Quinn who with her husband Brendan and colleagues, does extraordinary work in teaching and promoting the music in the Nenagh Ormond Branch, CCÉ. 568.05 Recorded at Munster Fleadh 2019 in Ennis, Co. Clare, fiddle players Ellen, Sarah and Séamus O’ Gorman from CCÉ, Cr. na gComarach, Co. Waterford, play Reels- “Maudabawn Chapel” (Ed. Reavy) and “Mike Flanagan’s”. 568.06 At a session in ‘The Town House’ at Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down, four fiddle players from Co. Armagh - Meabh Smyth, her parents Thomas and Rosie and Martina Murphy, play a selection of Reels ending with “The high road to Linton”. 568.07 Recorded at Munster Fleadh 2019 in Ennis, Co. Clare, fiddle player Lucy Walsh from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, with her own composition, a Reel called “Granny’s fiddle”, for which she took 3rd place (newly composed tunes) at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018. 568.08 After taking 2nd place in 12-15 Flute at Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down, Rosie McCloy, Newbridge CCÉ, Co. Down, plays a Reel - “Johnny Harling’s”. 568.09 Well known fiddle player Jim McKillop (Dundalk) joined by Patrick Bell, Ballinderry, Co. Tyrone (fiddle), Mark Haddock (banjo) and Brendan Armstrong (guitar) both from Lurgan, with Reels starting with “The dawn”. Recorded in Fabio’s Pizza and Kebab House in Castlewellan, Co. Down, at Ulster Fleadh 2019. 568.10 With ‘sean nós dancer’ the little dog Cara, Seán and Ceola Walsh (from Co. Monaghan) play lovely tin whistle arrangements of 2 Reels - “The maids of Mount Cisco” and “The valley of the moon”. Recorded during the Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down. Sincere thanks to Jean and Paul O’ Neill ( Cara’s tutors ! ) for all their kindness and hospitality. 568.11 Galway whistle players Jacinta Ní Chonghaile and Mary Murray play Reels - “Trip to Birmingham” (J. McDermott) and “Maids of Mount Cisco” at a session at the Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down. 568.12 Fiddle player Patrick Bell, Ballinderry, Co. Tyrone, plays 2 Hornpipes “Spellan’s inspiration” and “The high level” at a session at the Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down.
