ComhaltasLive #619_full:

619.01 Lovely playing of 2 Reels, which have remarkable similarity, by Sligo musicians Conor McDonagh on flute and Ryan Sheridan on accordion with Charles O’ Connor on keyboard. The Reels - “The enchanted lady” and “The Holy Land” - are extraordinarily similar, maybe it makes the selection even more interesting putting the two together. In fact, in O’ Neill’s “1001 Book” (page 125, No. 708) there’s another reel, almost identical, called “The maid of Athlone”. In another O’ Neill Book, ”O’ Neill’s Music of Ireland” (page 147), the reel “The enchanted lady” is also called “The maid of Athlone”. Really interesting and its such lovely playing by the lads.
