Celebrating the life of the late Ashling Murphy, a lovely selection of Reels - “Trip to Durrow” and “The Thatched Pub” - played by her colleagues from their local Ballyboy Comhaltas Branch from Co. Offaly, during ‘Ceiliúradh Ashling’, a special Concert in her honour in Cultúrlann na hÉireann on Saturday 26th February 2022. The Concert, which was attended by Government Ministers Catherine Martin and Jack Chambers, also featured several special items and tributes as well as the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra and Macalla na hÉireann Tour Group, both of which Ashling was a member. Further items from the Concert will be included in upcoming Comhaltas Live Programmes. The musicians in the Ballyboy CCÉ group here are Fiddles - Mick Buckley, Kimberley Delaney. Concertina - Sharon Carroll. Accordions - Eimear Buckley, Aoife Kilmartin and Donal Ryan. Banjos - Verona Lynch and David Bracken. Flutes - Caitlin Minnock and Luke Maher. Bodhrán - Mark Bracken. Guitar - Paddy Buckley.
