  1. 01 Seven Flute Players led by Tutor Robert Harvey with a selection of Reels - “The Green Fields of Beara” and “The Crane”, recorded in The Heritage House in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois on Saturday 21st January 2023. The players are Back Row L/R Tadhg Dalton, Tom Hudson and Robert Harvey.
    Front Row L/R Aoibheann Dalton, Eden Penfold, Tara Conway and Polly Nolan. Incidentally, Polly came 3rd in Flute Slow Airs U-12 and 2nd in Newly Composed Tunes (All Age-Groups) at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022. Many more items from a wonderful day’s Recordings will be included in upcoming Comhaltas Live programmes. Special thanks to Aaron Mackessey for his amazing work in organising the Recordings and to John Conway Chairman and his colleagues on Laois County Board of Comhaltas. Sincere thanks also to Eoin McClearn, Manager of the magnificent Heritage House which is a wonderful Tourist attraction.

647.02 A selection of Slip Jigs - “The Fisherman’s” and Paddy Byrne’s” - played by Seisiún Group members at a special Concert by CCÉ Craobh Pheig Uí Riain in Cappamore Community Centre in Limerick, as a 100th Anniversary Tribute to Peig Ryan and marking the Comhaltas Branch’s 50th Anniversary. Peig’s contribution to the Traditional Culture of East Limerick has been remarkable throughout her long life. The large Venue was packed for a wonderful afternoon Concert on Sunday 15th January 2023. The musicians playing this selection were - L/R - Niall Carey, Gillian Collins, Denise and Eileen Kelleher, Clare Ryan, Aoife Neville and Deirdre Murphy. Sincere thanks to Tomás Ó Maoldomnaigh, who presented the Concert, and to Eddie Murphy for all their help with the Recording. Many more outstanding items will be included in upcoming Comhaltas Live programmes.

647.03 Baile Núis 15-18 Céilí Band from Cork taking 2nd place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 play a Hornpipe - “The Ballyoran” (S. Ryan).

647.04 An Ed. Reavy Reel “The Wild Swans at Coole” played in 15-18 Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, by Kira Doppel from CCÉ, Irish Traditions of Atlanta, Georgia, US.

647.05 A lovely rendition of the Hornpipe “Chapel’s Cross”, composed by Robert Gleeson, played by Jane and Clare (fiddle) Ramsbottom of Portlaoise CCÉ at a special Recording for Comhaltas Live organised by Laois Co. Board of Comhaltas in The Heritage House in Abbeyleix on 21st January 2023. They learned the tune from their Music Teacher Mary O’ Reilly.

647.06 In the 15-18 Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, Glór na Sí Céilí Band from CCÉ, Admiral Brown, Mayo, play a Jig - “The Luckpenny”.

647.07 Eimear Murphy with a lovely interpretation of the Song “My Belfast Love”, at a special Comhaltas Live Recording in The Heritage House in Abbeyleix on 21st January 2023, organised by Laois Co. Board of Comhaltas. Eimear is from Mountrath and is a member of Camross CCÉ.

647.08 The renowned Mulcahy family, Michelle, Louise and Mick, thrilled the packed audience with several selections including these 3 Reels ending with “The Silver Spear”, at the Special Concert by CCÉ Craobh Pheig Uí Riain in Cappamore Community Centre in Limerick on Sunday afternoon 15th January 2023. The Concert was organised as a 100th Anniversary Tribute to Peig Ryan and marking the Comhaltas Branch’s 50th Anniversary. ( See also Comhaltas Live 647.02 )

647.09 Freeja Nolan, taking 3rd place in the 15-18 Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, plays a Reel - “Mrs Lawrie’s”. Freeja is from CCÉ, Irish Minstrels, Scotland, UK.

647.10 Taking 2nd place in the Senior Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, Mairéad and Maria Mitchell from CCÉ, Loop, Derry, play a Hornpipe _ “Seán Nugent’s”.

647.11 Kaisha McGroarty, Eve Hurley and Siobhán Rouse play a Jig - “O’ Dea’s” - in 15-18 Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

647.12 Three Reels played by Elaine O’ Reilly (banjo) and Daithí Gormley (accordion) with Piano accompaniment by Catherine McHugh, at the Paddy Killoran Commemorative Concert in Ballymote, Co. Sligo, on 17th Sept. 2022. The Reels were “The Scolding Wife”, “Joe and “Frankie’s” and “Music in the Glen”. The bi-lingual Bean a’ Tí for the Concert was Bríd Nic Reanacháin.

647.13 The full selection played in 15-18 Grúpaí Ceoil Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, by CCÉ, Gorey/Ballygarrett, Co. Wexford.

647.14 In the Senior Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, Ava and Aaron Glancy, CCÉ, Paddy Killoran, Sligo, play a Jig - “Paddy Fahy’s”.

647.15 A Hornpipe - “Mrs Crotty’s” - played in 15-18 Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, by Liam Mac Giobúin, Eoin Mac an Bháird and Louis Ó Murchú from CCÉ, Caisleán Uí Chonaill/Athán/ B.Ior., Limerick.
