649.01 Taking 1st place in the Senior Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, Taobh na Mara Céilí Band from CCÉ, Cr. na gComorach, Waterford, play Reels - “Jackie Coleman’s” and “The Four Courts”. Band Members are Fiddles - Sarah O’ Gorman, Conor Arkins and Seamus O’ Gorman; Flutes - Claire Fennell and Liam Walsh; Concertina - Rebecca Saich; Accordion - Joseph Mannion; Banjo - Seán Kelliher; Drums - Danny Collins and Piano - Hannah Collins.

649.02 5 Flute players and a Whistle player attending the Comhaltas TTCT Seminar in November 2022, play a selection of Jigs - “Joe Derrane’s’ and “The Choral Jig”. The Musicians are L/R Fiona McDonald (Laois), Lorna McGuinness (Sligo), Mary Murray (Galway), Tom Gavin (Sligo), Shauna Cullen (Sligo) and Harumi Takizawa (Japan). The week-long Seminar was held in Comhaltas Headquarters in Culturlann na hÉireann, Monkstown in Dublin. Thanks to Majella Bartley for her help with the recordings.

649.03 In the Senior Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, Una McGlinchey plays a Reel - “The Wild Swans at Coole” (Ed. Reavy). Una is from CCÉ, Fintona, Co. Tyrone.

649.04 The renowned Mulcahy family, Michelle, Louise and Mick, thrilled the packed audience with several selections including these 2 Jigs - “Johnny Henry’s” and “Peter Browne’s”, at the Special Concert by CCÉ Craobh Pheig Uí Riain in Cappamore Community Centre in Limerick on Sunday afternoon 15th January 2023. The Concert was organised as a 100th Anniversary Tribute to Peig Ryan and marking the Comhaltas Branch’s 50th Anniversary. Peig’s contribution to the Traditional Culture of East Limerick has been remarkable throughout her long life. Sincere thanks to Tomás Ó Maoldomnaigh, who presented the Concert, and to Eddie Murphy for all their help with the Recording.

649.05 Taking 2nd place in 15-18 Full Set Mixed Dancing Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, Rithim an Chláir, Co. Clare, with the second of their two performances. The Dancers were - Éabha O’ Malley, Eoin O’ Leary, Evan Roberts, Isabelle Vaughan, James Downes, Jennifer Collins, Lucy Shaughnessy and Nathan Downes.

649.06 In the Senior Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, Joanna Clare from New York, USA, plays a Hornpipe - “I long for Baltimore”. Joanna is a member of CCÉ, Cr. Dugan-O’ Looney in New York.

649.07 Taking 2nd place in the Senior Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, Mairéad and Maria Mitchell from CCÉ, Loop, Derry, play a Reel - “Fred Finn’s”.

649.08 The selection played by Ceoltóirí Mhúscraí from Cork in the Senior Grúpaí Ceoil Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar. The Group are members of CCÉ, Niall Ó Cathasaigh, Ballincollig, Cork.

649.09 Winner of the Senior Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, Sarah O’ Gorman plays a Jig - “The Maid at the Spinning Wheel”. Sarah is a member of CCÉ, Craobh na gComarach, Waterford and was a member of Taobh na Mara, the All-Ireland Senior Céilí Band Champions for 2022.

649.10 Two rarely-heard Jigs - “Paddy Fahy’s” and “Peggy’s Nettles” - played by sisters Aileen (fiddle) and Anna (accordion) Kearney at Warrenpoint CCÉ recording in Rostrevor, Co. Down, on 11th February 2023. Special thanks to Kayley Curtis and her colleagues for all their help with the recording.

649.11 A concertina solo by Leah O’ Donovan, CCÉ, Spink, Co. Laois, with “The Collier’s Reel”, at a special recording in Heritage House, Abbeyleix on 21st January, 2023 organised by Aaron Mackessy on behalf of Laois Co. Board of CCÉ.

649.12 A Jig - “Kitty lie over” - played in 15-18 Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, by Liam Mac Giobúin, Eoin Mac an Bháird and Louis Ó Murchú from CCÉ, Caisleán Uí Chonaill/Athán/ B.Ior., Limerick.

649.13 From New Jersey, US, Brendan and Eamon Wick play a Reel - “The Hollybush” (F. Dwyer) - in 15-18 Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. They are members of CCÉ, Rafferty-Madden in New Jersey.

649.14 In the 15-18 Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, Cavan Town CCÉ Band play a Jig - “Dominick Rooney’s”.

649.15 Katie Gorham and Gillian Spelman from CCÉ, Lackagh, Galway, play a Jig - “The Coming of Spring” (P. O’ Brien) in the 15-18 Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022.
