662.01 In a special Open Air Concert Tribute to the late great Joe Burke at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, a group of 28 All-Ireland Senior Button Accordion Champions from 1963 to 2022 played this selection of Reels - “Lord McDonald’s” and “Ballinasloe Fair” - with accompaniment by Adrian Ó Brádaigh. The excellent Concert was organised by Karen McCormack and presented by well-known Accordion player Martin Donoghue, who also joined in the group selections. During the Concert each of the Accordion players did a solo performance and there were several full group selections during the Concert. Further items will be included in upcoming Comhaltas Live Programmes. 662.02 Taking 1st place in 15-18 Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, Aodhán Hughes and Hannah Lyons, CCÉ, Caisleán a’ Bharraigh, Mayo, play the multi-part Jig “Paidín Ó Raffertí”.

662.03 In the Scoil Éigse Tutors Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, Marie Walsh, Jason McGuinness and Tom Gavin play 3 Reels - “Farrel O’ Gara” , “The Tap Room” and “Trim the Velvet”.

662.04 In the Senior Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, the Árd Eiscir Céilí Band from CCÉ, Raithean, Co. Offaly, play a Hornpipe - “Across the Fence” (B. McGlinchey). Band Members are - Fiddles : Ciara McKeogh, Danielle Lonergan and Clare Ann Kearns; Flutes : Eoin Carton and Brian Deegan; Accordion : James Hogan; Concertina : Eileen Brennan; Banjo : Maria Hartnett; Piano : Adrian Brady; Drums : Ciaran Brennan.

662.05 One of our greatest and most influential tin whistle players, Mary Bergin, plays 3 Reels - “Big Pat’s”, “Billy Brockers” and “Tony Linnane’s” - with guitar accompaniment by Shane McGowan. Recorded on 15th Sept. 2023 at the CCÉ, Annual Paddy Killoran Festival in Ballymote, Co. Sligo.

662.06 The Reel “The White Fairy” played in the 15-18 Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, by Cadhla Tohill, and Danú and Ríoghanach McKinney from CCÉ, Keady, Co. Armagh.

662.07 The Drombeg Céilí Céilí Band from Leap, Co. Cork, play the Hornpipe “Bantry Bay” in the Senior Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023. Band members are - Fiddles : Helen and Mary Therese Coughlan and Áine Higgins; Flutes : Maria and Mairéad Carey; Accordion : Eoin Burke; Concertina : Donagh McElligott; Banjo : Shane Scanlon; Piano : Mary Meagher; Drums : Ciarán French.

662.08 All-Ireland Senior Flute Champion for 2023, Shauna Cullen, plays a Hornpipe and a Reel - “The Plane of the Plank” (Billy McComiskey) followed by “Farewell to London”. Recorded in Shauna’s native Ballymote, Co. Sligo, at the CCÉ, Annual Paddy Killoran Festival. Piano accompaniment is by Ryan Sheridan.

662.09 Taking 1st place in the Senior Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 in Mullingar, Áine Murphy and Ciara Tighe play a Hornpipe. They are members of CCÉ,Inis Cathaigh/An Tulach, Co. Clare.

662.10 In the Senior Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, Abhainn an Lagáin C.B. from Castlewellan, Co. Down, play Reels - “Jenny picking Cockles” and “The Boys of Ballysodare”. Band Members are - Fiddles : Úna McGlinchey and Ciara Maguire; Flutes : Ciarán Fitzgerald and Maitiú Gaffney; Accordion : Sean Dolan; Concertina : Niamh Howell; Pipes : Ruairí Howell; Banjo : Aislinn Fegan; Piano : Donal Close; Drums : Daire Smith.

662.11 Edel Conway, Nell Kettle and Fionn Connolly from CCÉ, Portlaoise/Clonaslee, Co. Laois, play a Jig in the 15-18 Trios Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

662.12 Taking 1st place in 15-18 Grúpaí Ceoil Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, The Rolling Waves G.C. full selection. They are from CCÉ, Caisleán an Bharraigh, Mayo.

662.13 From CCÉ, St. James the Great, Scotland, UK, Michael Dudgeon and Niamh Deveny play a Hornpipe - “The Merry Gardiner” - in the Senior Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 in Mullingar.

662.14 From CCÉ, Beaumont, Dublin, Niamh Landale and Róisín O’ Connor, play a Reel - “The Dublin Lads”, in 15-18 Duets Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023.

662.15 In the Scoil Éigse Tutors Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023, Nicky and Ann McAuliffe play 2 Reels composed by Michael Dwyer from Beara Peninsula, Co. Cork.
