Winter 1997
Eagarfhocal
It is Christmas time again - a time of memories intermingled with joy, sadness and dreams. In Ireland it is a very special time for young and old. Many of our traditions are very much a product of this holy Season and its significance in our Christian lives. We think of the festive hustle and bustle of the household; the reverence of our religious observance; the homecomings; hunting the wren; the excitement of newly acquired gifts. Like life in general, there is sadness too - the empty chair of a departed loved one: the recollection of unrealised dreams; and for many the sheer pain of loneliness and want. Christmas is a time of hope and we wish you all the Blessings of the Season and for 1998.
