Following the successful launch of the CD story collection _Mystical Irish Musings Vol. 1_ in September 2007 in the Workhouse in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Vol. 2 was successfully launched in September 2008. The double CD runs for 2 hours and 18 minutes and comprises eighteen true stories of Ireland, stories which act as a vital link between our present and past, evoking memories of what we heard from our parents and grandparents. Brian Mac a’ Bhaird (a retired secondary teacher who is a descendent of the Bards of ancient Ireland) is the author and narrator and the stories are told in a manner that will shorten many a journey and awaken many a lost memory. Each package contains a six-page photographic insert which further brings the material to life. _Katie’s Daughter_, the first story on Disc 1, tells of how an Irish-American lady found her roots in Co. Monaghan, thereby closing a chapter that had hitherto remained vacant. That story won the 2007 all-Ireland _“Search for a Seanchaí”_ competition organised by RTÉ Lyric FM. Following the launch the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann entertained a packed house to what could only be described as a seisiún den scoth, with twenty-two performers in full swing.
