The Admiral William Brown Branch is one year old!

The Admiral William Brown Branch is one year old! What started as a small frightening project, is now a dream come true. A group of Argentinians sharing our love for Ireland, her music and culture, trying to spread it along the four winds by getting together every month, come rain or shine. The Success of our monthly sessions proves us that we must be doing something right. But this, of course, couldn’t have been possible without the support we have got from friends, relatives, acquaintances, new members, dancers, musicians, or simply those who stop by to share a pint and a good chat and long to be part of the Comhaltas Family. We’d like to thank them all. Also, we’d love to thank all the messages we received from Ireland and America. Those have been extremely helpful and supportive. A special thanks to The Meitheal Office in Gurteen, Co. Sligo. Vince, thanks for encouraging us create this branch. Tina, thanks for always being so helpful and updating our space on the Website. A hearty loving memory to our friend J.J O’Hara (may God have his soul). This branch is a part of his dreams of brotherhood between Ireland and Argentina. Dreams for which he worked restlessly. It is our common wish to try to keep on the good work of that man, so nobody ever can forget him, or Admiral William Brown, our inspirational hero. We still have a long way to go. There is always something to improve, short and long term projects to fulfill, always with the same enthusiasm, and following our living motto, The Comhaltas Motto; Music and Friendship. Our first anniversary meeting took place on the 7th of January in a lovely place by the River Plate in the city of Buenos Aires. It was a lovely evening and we had good craic. Cheers for another year of hard work and development!! Slán go foill! AWBB
