Downloading ComhaltasLive Programmes
30 Bealtaine 2007, 5:05 PM GMT
We’ve had some requests lately to support downloading our daily ComhaltasLive videos. While the video files themselves are quite large and not practical for downloading, I’ve set up the audio for each programme or segment to be downloaded or played directly, which should better support visitors with dial-up internet access.
You’ll find the download link within the text for each ComhaltasLive programme - for example in today’s ComhaltasLive clip you’ll see the sentence: “You may also download the audio track directly” which contains the link to an mp3 file of the clip.
Enjoy!

OK, I am not that great with computers, but when I try to download an audio there seems no way to save it on my hard drive. I tried to export it to a file and get only a 1 Kb OPML file which doesn’t give me anything. How can I save a downloaded file on my hard drive so I can open it? Thank you.

Jim, it should be fairly straightforward. In most browsers, you’d right-click on the link that says “Download Audio”, and then give a location for the file. I’m posting these as straightforward mp3 files, so that’s what you should see.

How can I access ComhaltasLive Programmes Archives in order to download the audio. I’m interested in the Cieli Band Competition last August

If you navigate to
http://comhaltas.ie/music/archive/C62/ , you’ll find all of the
ComhaltasLive programmes listed there. If you’re looking for Céilí
Bands specifically, you should find most of the clips at
http://comhaltas.ie/music/tag/Céilí+Band .
Hope this helps!
