Laichtin Naofa Ceili Band

The members of the legendary Laichtin Naofa Ceili Band (Miltown Malbay) which re-formed to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the first Fleadh Cheoil an Chláir in Miltown Malbay on August 4th / 5th 1957 , at the Fleadh Nua Celebrity Concert “Images of ‘57” in Glor on May 26th. enjoyed a social evening in the Bellbridge House Hotel in Spanish Point on Friday June 29th , hosted by Frank Whelan , Chairman Fleadh Nua Committee and Joe O’Connor , Reachtaire CCE. A lively session of West Clare music continued into the small hours.

(Relatives and friends of original band members) The cd of the 1959 recording of the Laichtin Naofa by Dublin Records , owned by James O’Neill , New York and Labasheeda “Come To An Irish Dance Party” will be launched at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy on July 8th at St Joseph’s School , Spanish Point.
