Founded in 1989, our branch’s intial goal was to promote set dancing but now we have a more even split between the music and the dance. Over the years we have hosted Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann five times in total (1992, 93, 94, 2003, 04). We have also hosted one county fleadh. We run our music classes every Friday night in ss Peter & Pauls School Hall, Kickham St, Clonmel from5-8pm. On offer are classes for beginners and improvers in tin whistle, fiddle, banjo, and bodhran; also mixed instrument classes specialising in group playing .Beginning in May, 2011, we will have children’s singing classes and we also hold a weekly informal music session, both from 7.30 - 8.15. Dancing classes are run in the same venue every Friday night beginning with children’s step dancing (6.15 - 7) then children’s set dancing (7.30 - 8.30) and adults/teens sean-nos dancing (8.30 - 9.30). We regularly run workshops in instrumental playing, singing and dancing and hold occasional sessions in local bars.
