Three of county Sligo’s most vibrant and well known young musicians Daithí Gormley, and musical siblings Cian and Caoimhe Kearins have been playing together for many years culminating in them becoming the winners of the prestigious All Ireland Senior Trio competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015. Hailing from Ballintogher, County Sligo, Daithí Gormley is regarded as one of the finest exponents of the Button Accordion of his generation and is in high demand all over Ireland and overseas as a performer, lecturer, and teacher. He is the current Senior All Ireland Button Accordion champion. From Collooney, County Sligo, Cian and Caoimhe Kearins come from a very well-known Sligo musical family, the Collis’, and have a host of All Ireland titles to their credit including Flute, Whistle, singing and lilting. Members of the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland, Daithí, Cian and Caoimhe are also in high demand as teachers and performers and feature prominently at many of the festivals and Summer Schools throughout the country.
