All roads lead to the Fleadh Gathering concert in the Southern Hotel , Sligo on this Saturday night 17th May to launch Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2014. It will be the largest ever gathering of Sligo Traditional musicians in one location. The concert will be recorded for posterity and will feature a host Sligos best traditional musicians and dancers. The night will celebrate the legacy of the great Sligo Masters of Traditional music Coleman, Morrison and Killoran . We are on the final lap on the completion of a Film on the Sligo Masters which will be launched at the All Ireland Fleadh and screened in the Gaiety cinema each afternoon & night during Fleadh week . We plan to include footage of all musicians present on the evening playing a few of Colemans favourites Tarbolton, The Sailors bonnet & the Longford collector. We are asking all Sligo musicians to come along for the night with your instruments and you may be part of this once in a lifetime film of the musical tradition of Sligo and of the North West. To facilitate the filming unit, all musicians must be seated before 7.30pm at the latest.
