The Mulcahy’s of Abbeyfeale, West Limerick are well known among traditional music enthusiasts for being stalwarts of the tradition and ensuring its continuance for many generations to come. They collectively play a dazzling array of instruments, with Mick on the accordion and melodeon, Louise playing concert flute and uilleann pipes and Michelle on the fiddle, concertina, harp and piano. The family’s sparkling music-making still brings that all-important frisson of discovery that can light up even the most often well trodden tunes.
