The Leinster Meitheal Committee are pleased to invite you to a Comhaltas Archive workshop/presentation celebrating the traditional music of County Clare from the 1950- 1970 period.
The workshop, which will be presented by Seamus MacMathuna, will include audio recordings from the Comhaltas Archive of traditional musicians and singers from many parts of Clare. Those featured will include such legendary figures as Bobby Casey, Willie Clancy, Patrick Kelly, John Kelly and Junior Crehan, Micko and Packie Russell (all now, alas, deceased, R.I.P.) as well as Peadar O’Loughlin, Joe Ryan, Chris Droney and Paddy Canny still happily alive and playing. Other possibly lesser known artists such as John Naughton of Feakle (concertina), Micheal Cleary of Mullagh (whistle) and singers Joe Cooney (Clonina), Micheal Conway (Cahirmurphy), Micheal Flanagan (Inagh) and Sonny Murray, concertina (Kilmihil/Ennis) and several others will also be included.
