ComhaltasLive #253-5: Slow Air played by Donal De Barra on Button Accordion
Former President of Comhaltas Donal De Barra on accordion playing the slow air “Seán Ó Duibhir an Ghleanna”, which is this week’s tutorial. Piano accompaniment is by Aileen Dillane.
This music was recorded at the special concert of West Limerick music organized by the Munster council of Comhaltas at the Munster Fleadh in Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick in July 2007. Our setting of the sheet music comes from Tomas Ó Canainn’s excellent book, “Traditional Slow Airs of Ireland” published by Ossian Publications.
