481.01 Dublin musicians L/R - Seán Montgomery, Claire Walsh, Tom Doorley and Eoin Ó Cionnaith, play a selection of reels ( “Over the moor to Maggie” and “The wind that shakes the barley”), at the Cairde Charna unique feast of traditional music, song and dance at Cultúrlann na hÉireann, Dublin on 10th October 2015 to support and promote the very exciting Carna Project in Connemara, Co. Galway. The Carna project involves the building of a Commemorative Centre in recognition of the many who had to leave the area in times past, as part of the Irish Diaspora and will link the Carna community with their descendants throughout the world.
481.02 Enjoyed by some stunned listeners, Waterford fiddle player Sarah O’ Gorman plays two reels “The green fields of Glentown” (T. Peoples) and “The mason’s apron”, at one of the many informal sessions at the inaugural Cahir Trad Fest, Co. Tipperary in September 2015.
481.03 Cavan flute player Séamus Tierney, who took 2nd place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015, plays two reels “The Caucus” and “Fr O’ Grady’s trip to Bocca”. Recorded at Brú Ború, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 23rd October 2015.
481.04 Lough Oughter Céilí Band from Killashandra, Co. Cavan, play “Mick Rooney’s hornpipe” in Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. Band members are - Mariesa Dolan and Ursula Finnegan on fiddles; Cein Sweeney, Amanda Finnegan and Padraig Bannon on flutes; Donal Reilly and Sharon Smith, accordions; Bronagh Sweeney, banjo; Conor Kiernan, piano and Martin Smith on drums.
481.05 St. Roch’s Céilí Band, CCÉ, Irish Minstrels, Glasgow, Scotland, play a selection of Reels - ”The sailor on the rock” and “The fox on the town”, in Senior Céilí Band competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. Band members are - Róisín Anne Hughes, Eileen McArdle, Mairéad Canning and Louise Hunter on fiddles; Patricia McArdle and Joseph Armstrong on flutes; Kevin Murphy on accordion; Catriona McArdle on concertina; David Browne on piano and Danny Boyle on drums.
481.06 All-Ireland senior fiddle champion for 2015, Aoife Cunningham, CCÉ, Kilnaleck, Crosskeys, Co. Cavan, plays a hornpipe in the Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
481.07 Niamh Ní Cheannabháin and Rachel O’ Dea, CCÉ, Craobh na hÍnse, Co. Clare, play a reel in 12-15 Duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
481.08 All-Ireland 15-18 flute champion 2015, Ciarán Fitzgerald from CCÉ, Bheartla Uí Fhlatharta, Co. Kildare, plays two reels - “Mayor Harrisson’s fedora” and “The palm tree” at a session at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. Piano accompaniment is by Kevin Breheny.
481.09 Maebh de Barra, CCÉ, Kilteel/Eadestown, Co. Kildare, plays a reel “The fisherman’s island” (Ed. Reavy) in senior fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
481.10 Jason McGuinness, CCÉ, Tireragh, Sligo, plays a reel in senior fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
481.11 Well known musicians from USA, Dylan Foley on fiddle and Jimmy Noonan on flute, both Scoil ÉigseTutors at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo, play a selection of jigs - “Sgt. Early’s delight’, “Seán McGlynn’s” and “First night in America”.
481.12 At a session at Comhaltas North American Convention/Mid-Atlantic Fleadh in Parsippany, New Jersey in April 2015, fiddle player Jayne Pomplas plays two jigs commencing with “Paddy Fahy’s”.
481.13 All-Ireland senior concertina champion 2015, Paul Clesham from Hollymount, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, plays two reels - “Larry Redigan’s” and “Phyllis’s birthday” (J. Marsh), with accompaniment on harp by Séamus Ó Flatharta, Connemara, Co. Galway. Recorded at Brú Ború, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 23rd October 2015.
481.14 A selection of reels - “Tilly Finn’s” and “I wish I never saw you”, played by Templemichael Céilí Band from Co. Wicklow, at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. Band members are - Tanya Murphy, Deirdre Maher, Catriona O’ Brien, Elaine Gleeson and Alannah Thornbury on fiddles; Gerry O’ Donnell and Pat Fitzpatrick on flutes; John Bass, accordion; Pat Bass, piano and Jason McGuinness on drums.
