502.01 Taking 2nd place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Knocknashee Céilí Band, CCÉ, Paddy Killoran, Sligo, play two reels - “Molly Bawn” and “The bucks of Oranmore”. Band members are - Darragh Healy, Laura Beagon and John McEvilly on fiddles; Ide McKenna and Cian Kearins on flutes; Daithi Gormley and Declan Payne on accordions; Theresa O’ Grady, banjo; Kevin Brehony, piano and Michael Sheridan on drums.

502.02 All-Ireland 15-18 button accordion champion for 2016 John McCann, CCÉ, Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh, plays a reel - “The controversial reel” (B. McComiskey). Recorded at the special Nyah Concert in Cavan on 27th August 2016. The concert, organised every year by Martin Donohoe, also marked the launch of “The Cavan Bucks” CD (featuring Zoran Donohue, Barry Conaty and Ellen Grant). Further items from that concert, which was presented by Martin Donohoe and Gary Lynch, in upcoming Programmes.

502.04 From Clogher Valley Comhaltas in Co. Tyrone, Aoife and Una McGlinchey play a jig “The stormy night” (P. O’ Brien) when they took 2nd place in 12-15 Duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

502.08 A selection of jigs - “The rakes of Clonmel’ and “The Knights of St. Patrick” played by the Indianapolis Céilí Band from CCÉ, Murphy Roche Irish Music Club, Burr Ridge, IL, USA, in the senior Céilí Band competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare. Band members are Madeleine Willard, Tricia Frasure and Conor Sheldon on fiddles; Dimitri Alano and Kell Chole on flutes; Ed. Delaney on button accordion; Robyn Jedlica on concertina; Mario Joven on banjo; Caitlin Foster on piano and Ron Fife on drums.

502.09 Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín, CCÉ, Caisleán a’ Bharraigh, Co. Mayo, plays a reel in senior fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare. Éadaoin won the fiddle slow airs competition.

502.10 The Brosna Céilí Band from Co. Kerry play “Brian O’ Kane’s” march in the senior Céilí Band competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare. Members of the band are Ann Marie Fitzgerald, Jean Scannell and Christine Mulcahy on fiddles; Claire Heffernan and John McNulty on flutes; Kenneth Browne on button accordion; Greta Curtin on concertina; Darragh Horan on banjo; Dan Sheahan on piano and Pat Mulcahy on drums.

502.11 From St. Louis Irish Arts, MO, USA, Eimear Arkins plays a reel “Maudabawn Chapel” (Ed. Reavy), in senior fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare. Eimear took 2nd place in fiddle slow airs competition.
