504.01 Winning the All-Ireland Senior Céilí Band competition for the second year in succession at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Shandrum Céilí Band from CCÉ, Cr. Chronáin, Cork, play a selection of Reels “Speed the plough” and “The bag of spuds”. Band members are - Mikie O’ Gorman, Mairéad Fitzgibbon and Eddie Kiely on fiddles; Timmy Collins and Brian O’ Loughlin on flutes; Alan Finn on accordion; Tadgh O’ Sullivan on concertina; Keith O’ Loughlin on banjo; Aileen O’ Callaghan on piano and Ger Naughton on drums.

504.02 Claire Ann Kearns from CCÉ, Killeigh, Co. Offaly, plays a jig - “Paddy Fahy’s” - in Senior Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

504.03 In 15-18 Trios competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Niamh Ní Cheannabháin, Rachel O’ Dea and Arlene O’ Sullivan from CCÉ, Clarecastle/Ballyea, Inis Díomáin, Co. Clare, play “Aggie White’s reel”.

504.04 In 15-18 Trios competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ruairí Ó Conchubhair, Gearóid Ó hAirtnéide and Caoimhe Nic Ghiobúin play a hornpipe - “John J Kimmel’s”.

504.05 Receiving a very warm reception, the Taro Céilí Band from Japan play a selection of reels - “The green mountain” and “Swinging on the gate” - in Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare. Band members ( who are from all over Japan, especially outside of Tokyo ) are Taro Nagata, Ryo Kaneko and Akihiko Kikka on fiddles; Naoya Yamada on flute; Maki Yoshida on concertina; Koji Nagao on banjo; Takashi Fujihara on piano and Ryosuke Mine on drums.

504.06 From CCÉ, Loop, Derry, Maria and Mairead Mitchell play ”Tommy People’s jig” in Senior Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

504.07 Taking 1st place in Senior Trios competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016, Cormac Mac Aodhagáin and Áine and Ciarán Mac Gearailt, CCÉ, Cr. Bheartla Uí Fhlatharta, Co. Kildare, play a reel - “Colonel Fraser’s”.

504.08 Fergus Bogue, CCÉ, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan, plays a reel - “Black Pat’s” - when taking 3rd place in Senior Button Accordion competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

504.09 Selection performed by Fred Finn 15-18 Grúpa Ceoil, Sligo, when taking 2nd place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

504.10 (to 29.47) 17-11 From CCÉ, Tramore, Co. Waterford, Rebecca McCarthy-Kent plays a reel - “The red bee” (Joe Liddy) in Senior Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

504.11 Taking 1st place in 15-18 Trios competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016, Eabha Shortt, Sárán Ó Maolagain and Fionnuala Donlon, CCÉ, Dundalk, play a hornpipe “The scent of the bog”.

504.12 Taking 2nd place in Ladies O-18 full set competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016, Rithim an Chláir: Sráid na Cathrach, CCÉ, Laichtín Naofa, Co. Clare, performing their 2nd piece in the competition.

504.13 Ceoltóirí Crosskeys Céilí Band from Loughbeg, Co. Antrim, play a selection of jigs - “The thrush in the bush” and “The Scotsman over the border” in the Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 in Ennis, Co. Clare. Members of the band are - Maria and Mairead Mitchell, Kate O’ Brien and Martin Agnew on fiddles; Seána Agnew and Leona Neeson on flutes; Lauren Hegarty and Eimhear Mulholland on accordions; Maeve Boylan on piano and John Agnew on drums.

504.14 Taking 3rd place in Senior Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016, Maire De Barra and Caoimhín De Búrca from CCÉ, Gort na mBó, Co. Mayo, play “Galway Bay” hornpipe.

504.15 Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha, the very popular presenter of Irish Traditional music programming on Radio na Gaeltachta, plays a selection of three reels - “Trip to Birmingham”, “Billy Brocker’s” and “Crowley’s”. Recorded at the Jig of Life Concert (organised each year by Martin Donohue) in Town Hall, Cavan on 27th August 2016. Piano accompaniment is by Philip Clarke, Cavan.
