589.01 Recorded at Fintona Annual Trad Fest 2019 in Co. Tyrone, the Mulcahy Family (each of whom is a multi-instrumentalist) from Abbeyfeale in West Limerick, with a selection of Reels - “The humours of Castlefinn”, “Templehouse” and “The Dairymaid”. In this selection Michelle is on concertina, Louise on flute and Mick is on accordion.

589.02 Recorded at the NYAH Annual Festival in Cavan town in Sept. 2019, local button accordion player Ellen Grant plays a selection of Reels commencing with “Sergeant Early’s dream”. Guitar accompaniment is by Fintan McManus.

589.03 Emily Ní Chatháin, CCÉ, Elphin, Co. Roscommon, plays a Reel - “Trim the velvet” - in 15-18 Concert Flute Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019 in Drogheda, Co. Louth.

589.04 All-Ireland Senior Banjo Champion 2019, Shane Scanlon plays the multi-part Jig - “Páidín Ó Raffertaigh”. Recorded at the annual Fintona Trad Fest, Co. Tyrone in October 2019. Shane is from CCÉ, Niall Ó Cathasaigh, Ballincollig, Co. Cork and accompaniment on bouzouki is by Séan.

589.05 Introduced as “King of the Lilters” by Fear a’ Tí and Festival Organiser Martin Donohue, Séamus Fay - 4 times All-Ireland Champion - lilts a Reel at the ‘Jig of Life’ Concert at the NYAH Annual Festival in Cavan town in Sept. 2019.

589.06 In Scoil Éigse Tutors’ Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019, Jimmy Noonan (USA) on flute, Tom Doherty (accordion) and Maria Lynn McHugh on Keyboard, play 3 Reels - “Mayor Harrison’s fedora”, “John McKenna’s” and “Lillies in the field”. The Concert was presented by Kieran Hanrahan.

589.07 Mayo musicians Marianne, Séamus and Catherine Tiernan play a selection of Jigs commencing with “Strike the gay harp” and “The maid on the green”, at Fintona, Co. Tyrone, Annual Trad Fest in October 2019.

589.08 Ademar O’Connor, CCÉ, Edenderry, Co. Offaly, plays a Jig in 15-18 Button Accordion Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019 in Drogheda, Co. Louth.

589.09 At the annual NYAH Festival 2019 in Cavan, the NYAH Teenagers group play a selection of Reels commencing with “Tarbolton”, with piano accompaniment by ’Senior Teenager’ Philip Clarke. The group includes Seán Curran (pipes), Niall Curran (flute), Hannah O’ Reilly and Jack Grant (whistles), OisIn McCorry and Pádraig Conroy (accordions) and Charlie O’ Reilly (bodhrán). It was one of many items in a wonderful Concert - The Jig of Life Concert - presented by organiser Martin Donohue.

589.10 Anna McCarthy, CCÉ Seán Treacy, Dublin, plays a Jig in 15-18 Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019 in Drogheda, Co. Louth.

589.11 After taking 1st place in 12-15 Trios at Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down, (and subsequently taking 2nd place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019), Anna, Bobby and Evelyn McCaul play a Reel - “Lord McDonalds”. They are from Aughnamullen CCÉ, Co. Monaghan.

589.12 At a session in ‘The Town House’ at Ulster Fleadh 2019 in Castlewellan, Co. Down, four fiddle players from Co. Armagh - Meabh Smyth, her parents Thomas and Rosie and Martina Murphy, play a selection of Reels ending with “Roaring Mary”.

589.13 At one of many great Sessions at Comhaltas North America Convention in Persippany, New Jersey in June 2019, well-known fiddle player Dylan Foley from New York plays a Slip Jig - “Larry Redican’s”. Accompaniment on bouzouki is by David McKindley-Ward from Baltimore.

589.14 Taking 3rd place in 15-18 Concert Flute Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019, Aideen Quinlan, CCÉ, Leac Snámha, Co. Kerry, plays a Reel - “Carmel Mahony Mulhaire’s” (comp. Martin Mulhaire).

589.15 Séamus O’ Gorman, CCÉ, Cr. na gComarach, Co. Waterford, plays a Hornpipe - “Lad O’ Byrne’s” - in 15-18 Fiddle Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2019 in Drogheda, Co. Louth.
