627.01 Celebrating the life of the late Ashling Murphy, a lovely selection of Reels - “Trip to Durrow” and “The Thatched Pub” - played by her colleagues from their local Ballyboy Comhaltas Branch from Co. Offaly, during ‘Ceiliúradh Ashling’, a special Concert in her honour in Cultúrlann na hÉireann on Saturday 26th February 2022. The Concert, which was attended by Government Ministers Catherine Martin and Jack Chambers, also featured several special items and tributes as well as the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra and Macalla na hÉireann Tour Group, both of which Ashling was a member. Further items from the Concert will be included in upcoming Comhaltas Live Programmes. The musicians in the Ballyboy CCÉ group here are Fiddles - Mick Buckley, Kimberley Delaney. Concertina - Sharon Carroll. Accordions - Eimear Buckley, Aoife Kilmartin and Donal Ryan. Banjos - Verona Lynch and David Bracken. Flutes - Caitlin Minnock and Luke Maher. Bodhrán - Mark Bracken. Guitar - Paddy Buckley.

627.02 What wonderful banjo music from 9 years old Aoife Dunleavy and her teacher Joe Connaire, who happens to be one of the main organisers of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar. With inspiration like this we’re certainly in for a great Fleadh ! They play two Reels commencing with “Morning thrush”. Accompaniment is by Jackie O’ Meara on guitar. Recorded in the Bloomfield Hotel, Mullingar on 12th March 2022.

627.03 Fiddle player Fiachra Mac Aodha from Raheny, Co. Dublin, plays two Reels - “George Peoples’ reel” and “The Bunch of Keys” - at a recording session in Cultúrlann na hÉireann, Dublin, on 5th March 2022. Fiachra is a member of CCÉ, Seán Treacy, Dublin. 627.04 Warming up for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022 in Mullingar, internationally renowned Mick Foster leads this group of musicians in a session recorded in the Bloomfield Hotel in Mullingar in March 2022, with a selection of Jigs - “The Cook in the Kitchen”, “The Wandering Minstrel” and “The Battering Ram”. The Musicians are : L/R Liz Maguire - fiddle, Seán Marshall - banjo, Noel Sweeney - flute, Mick Foster - accordion, Moyra Foster - keyboard, Aidan Flood - drums, Paddy Maguire - fiddle and Jim Brehony - accordion.

627.05 “Jocelyn’s Jig” played by Muireann Ní Mhaoildeirg on harp and Sadhbh Nic Artáin on fiddle, in Cultúrlann na hÉireann in Monkstown, Dublin on 5th March 2022. They are members of CCÉ, Seán Treacy, Dublin.

627.06 On tin whistle Enda Seery plays two lovely Hornpipes - “The Greenway” which he composed himself, and “Ciaran’s wish” composed by the late John Brady. Recorded in The Bloomfield Hotel in his native Mullingar on 12th March 2022.

627.07 From Glasgow, Scotland, St. Roch’s Céilí Band play a selection of Reels - “The old copperplate” and “Fred Finn’s” - in the Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth. Band members are Fiddles - Louise Hunter, Siobhán McArdle, Róisín Anne Hughes and Mairéad Canning; Flutes - Patricia McArdle and Joe Armstrong; Accordion - Paddy Callaghan; Concertina - Catriona McArdle; Piano - David Browne; Drums - Danny Boyle.

627.08 In the Scoil Éigse Tutors’ Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth, L/R Sorcha Costelloe, Theresa O’ Grady and Daithi Gormley play 3 Reels - “Joe Liddy’s”, “Cappataggle shuffle” and “The maids of Mount Cisco”. taggle shuffle” and “The maids of Mount Cisco”. 27.09 Daire (pipes) and Fiachra Mac Aodha with a selection of Reels - “Morrison’s” and “The Swallow’s tail”. They are from CCÉ, Craobh Seán Treacy, Dublin. Recorded in Cultúrlann na hÉireann, Monkstown, Dublin, on 5th March 2022.

627.10 Taking 2nd place in the Senior Button Accordion Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth, Seamus Tiernan plays a Hornpipe - “The bee’s wing”. Seamus is from CCÉ, Caisleán a Bharraigh, Co. Mayo.

627.11 At the Scoil Éigse Tutors’ Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018, L/R Mairéad Carey, Sandra Walsh, Clare Ann Kearns and Deirdre Murphy play Jigs - “Mulhaire’s” and “Currants for cakes and raisins for everything” (Ann Conroy).

627.12 Two Hornpipes played by Róisín, Érainn and Saoirse Ní Chonacháin Bhriain, from Leixlip CCÉ, Co. Kildare. The tunes are - “Her lovely gold hair flowed down her back” and “The Dance of the Honeybees”. Recorded in Cultúrlann na hÉireann on 5th March 2022.

627.13 The Four Corners Céilí Band from Dundalk, Co. Louth, play Reels - “The Tap room” and “Rip the Calico” - in Senior Céilí Band Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth. Band members are : on Fiddles - Tadhg Mulligan, Michelle Foy and Jason McGuinness ; Flutes - Oisín Morrison, Eibhlín Ní Shúilleabháin and Jarlath MacGabhann; Accordion - John McCann; Concertina - Sárán Mulligan; Piano - Seán Ó Casaide; Drums - Damien McGuinness.

627.15 From Pearl River, New York, USA, St. Aedan’s Céilí Band play a selection of Reels ending with “Martin Wynne’s” in 15-18 Céilí Bands Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 in Drogheda, Co. Louth. They are members of CCÉ, Martin Mulvihill in New York.
