Struchtúr

Mar eagraíocht chultúrtha a bhfuil baint ag na mílte duine ar fud na cruinne leis, tá Comhaltas tógtha ar struchtúr daonlathach a léiríonn nádúr deonach a bhallraíochta.

The Branch
The Branch is the building block of Comhaltas with members organising sessions, classes, concerts, céilithe and fleadhanna bringing the benefit and vibrancy of the traditional arts to their own local communities.

County / Regional Boards
Branches are organised into Counties in Ireland and into Regions elsewhere in the world. A County or Regional Board is made up of delegates from each branch and is responsible for promoting the aims and objectives of the organisation in its own area.

Provincial Councils
There are four Provincial Councils in Ireland and one each in Britain and North America. These are made up of delegates from the County / Regional Boards and are responsible for Comhaltas activities within the province, with the exception of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, which is organised by the Ardchomhairle.

Ardchomhairle
The Ardchomhairle (Central Executive Council) is the governing body of Comhaltas and consists of The President, The Director General, The Secretary General, the Treasurer General, the Registrar General and the Trustees. Each Provincial Council Chairman automatically becomes a member of the Ardcomhairle while two provincial delegates are elected from each province.

A Music Officer, a Competitions Officer and a Public Relations Officer are appointed from within the Ardchomhairle. Also present on the Ardchomhairle are music, dancing and language officers and two ‘Óg-Bhaill’ observers, along with a representative of the Counties Antrim and Derry Country Fiddlers Association.
