Comhaltas has an extensive on-line archive of audio and video recordings, photographs, articles, sheet music and compositions documenting the story of our traditional arts.
While the regularly up-dated ComhaltasLive features video of the best of today’s traditional musicians, the Comhaltas Archive also contains historical films and video of performers and events from our rich musical heritage.
The Comhaltas Archive also contains a wide range of audio sources including historical commercial recordings, donations from music collectors throughout the country and our own archive collection of field recordings captured over the years, in particular by the late Séamus MacMathúna, at kitchen and sitting room sessions all over Ireland.
